College Football Party: Duel in the Desert Cocktail Recipes
November 19, 2015
Dating back to 1889, the University of Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State University Sun Devils football rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in NCAA history. The yearly game between the two teams, now known as the Duel in the Desert, is for bragging rights and posession of the Territorial Cup, a trophy that travels between the two teams. It was created for the school's first matchup wayyyyy back when and is certified by the NCAA as the oldest rivalry trophy in college football.
So basically, the Duel in the Desert, which is scheduled for Saturday November 21st in Tempe, AZ this year, is a big deal. Pranks between the two schools are common, lots of smack talk ensues, and yes, fans on both sides get fired up. It's the kind of passion we love so to help you get into the college football party spirit, we've created 2 original cocktails that are perfect for the 2015 Duel in the Desert game.
The Arizona State Sun Devils currently have the Territorial Cup so we'll share their cocktail first- it's got some spice since their mascot is Sparky, a Sun Devil:
Devil Don’t Care 1 Part Fireball Whisky 1 Part Soda Water 2 Parts Cranberry Juice 1 Part Apple Juice (can sub with Orange Juice) Dash of Cinnamon Shake and Serve Over Ice
Arizona Wildcat fans will want to pounce on this fizzy and colorful cocktail
ASWHO? ¾ cup cranberry juice 1 oz vodka 1 part Ginger Beer 1 part Soda Water Shake and Serve Over Ice Add Cranberries for garnish
Whichever team you're rooting for, enjoy footballing this weekend!
