Football Party Ideas: Tackle the Table

Whether it's the big game or your weekly watching party, make a statement at your next football get-together with our "Tackle the Table" inspiration table. Discover 10 simple DIY ideas for your next football party- there are some great ways to blend sassy style with a fun sports theme!

A chalkboard background is the perfect way to draw attention to your table- you can customize it for any game you're watching and really adds personality (and of course, all you have to do is erase and draw for your next party). The best thing about this chalkboard is that it's portable and can be a backdrop to any party table you're setting up, regardless of the location.

We also came up with some football inspired names for the food options. If you're a football fan, you'll chuckle at the references. Serving the same dip you normally serve but renaming it makes it fun, like our Cowboys Queso. Cater the names to whatever teams are playing that day- you know everyone loves a good rivalry!

To add some color while sticking to the football theme, we used real wheat grass for our "tablecloth". This instantly takes the display to the next level. If you throw an annual party, make it easy on yourself and cut faux turf to fit your dining table. Roll it up after the last guest leaves and you are good until the next year!

Who wants a penalty flag? No one unless it's used to wipe that delectable dip off of your face! We found yellow napkins at a local party supply store and worked with a local stamp maker to create a "Penalty Flag" stamp. Simply stamp your yellow napkins and you're done!

Let guests take chips with them to the couch without having to snag the whole bowl by providing referee-inspired chip bags that get the Football Betty touch- glitter tape and a custom tag.

Pepsi and crunchy goodies from Tostitos earned a spot on this table (hello, #hypedforhalftime)! Get several sizes of soda (kids love those tiny cans) and display them in varied heights for visual appeal. We used wooden boxes but dig around your kitchen cabinets and even your garage- you'll be surprised what you find (just be sure to clean them first).

We also added some touches of glam by adding glitter tape to glass jars- this is a simple DIY that anyone can do. Purchase glitter tape at your local craft store, cut 1 long piece and several slightly shorter pieces, and place them on glass jars or vases to mimic the stitching on a football. Fill them with candy, chips, whatever, and now you have an easy and inexpensive decorative element!

Paper straws in team colors are easy to find at craft and party supply stores- we added football phrase flags to the straws because, you know, we can't just serve plain straws. We had to do SOMETHING fun to them!

Score the extra point for planning ahead and ordering custom water bottle labels! To order Hustle and Hydrate labels, contact (limited quantity avaliable)

Need a Hail Mary? If you're running short on party décor, raid your kids' rooms. You're sure to find footballs, hats and other team gear that can can go along way. Just leave the cleats off the table! Now join your guests in the huddle...
